Double Kwik Markets was founded in 1960 by Hogue and Verda Barnette.  The first store was on Highway 23 in the Glamorgan section of Wise, Virginia. In 1970, Earl Wendell Barnette and Jerry Barnette purchased the business from Hogue and Verda, their parents.  From 1970 to 1980, the one store was operated with Wendell, Jerry, and their families.  In 1972 they hired associate, Martha Keith, who is still with the company as a store manager.   In 1981, Double Kwik began expansion by building and buying additional units.  In 1994, Jerry Barnette retired and sold his share of the business to Wendell and Brenda Barnette.

Double Kwik is currently owned and operated by Earl Wendell Barnette and Brenda K. Barnette of Wise, Virginia.  Barnette Enterprises and its affiliates are responsible for Double Kwik Markets located in Southwest Virginia and Eastern Tennessee. Double Kwik is committed to provide quality products and competitive prices at convenient locations.  There are currently fifty-seven (57) Double Kwik locations.  This web site is designed to allow you to review our locations, products and services, and to find out the latest on Double Kwik specials and promotions. 

Not only is our site designed to be informational, it can actually save you money!  We want to make this a bit of an adventure for internet users, so you have to visit us often to save.  Sound interesting?  Here is how it works.

We give teenagers and others a safe, secure place to go for help. We don't sell alcohol or tobacco to minors, and we're strict about checking IDs. We won't sell alcohol to anyone intoxicated.
